LISBOA

San Antonio
San Antonio is Lisbon’s main Saint and is, for many people, the only one that they devote themselves to. Proof of this can be seen on the 12th of June after sunset, when the entire city hits the streets to honour the Saint with open-air dinners of roast sardines and bell pepper salads, watered down with, of course, an abundance of red wine. There are also dances playing popular music.

Lisbon Marathon
The Lisbon Marathon is already in its 22nd edition and continues to enjoy great success in terms of the number of its participants. Running in the Lisbon Marathon is not only a chance to take part in a great challenge, but also presents a great opportunity to familiarise yourself with an ancient city.

Gulbenkian Jazz Festival
Pianos, bass guitars, tubas and voices are the underpinnings of the Gulbenkian Jazz Festival, which is held in August and which surprises every year with something new. This festival is a showcase for jazz’s best, with bands from all over the world. All of the city’s available accommodation fills up in this season, making a good hotel room hard to come by. 

Festival de los Océanos
This festival, sponsored by the Lisbon Tourism Council, livens up the capital’s river area with an intense schedule of music, dance, theatre and other events and activities.
